Alex and Scott met in college at Auburn University and started dating in the fall of their senior year. They’ve been together eight years and share an adorable Great Pyrenees, Sophie! They love to travel to new places, and each has a mean golf swing. Getting to know them has been so fun, and I’m thrilled I could photograph their Atlanta engagement session!
Alex’s family is from Texas, while Scott’s family is from Atlanta. Alex’s family spent last Christmas at a beach house in Florida’s 30A, where Scott could visit from Georgia (and Sophie could tag along, too!). Scott came to stay for the week, then popped the question a few days after arriving. He took Alex on a walk at sunset, just the two of them, and the atmosphere was perfect for a romantic proposal. Of course, Alex said yes!
We split Alex and Scott’s Atlanta engagement session between two locations, Duck Pond Park and Arabia Mountain. Duck Pond Park was the perfect place to bring Sophie, who enjoyed walking along the water with her humans! Scott and Alex chose outfits that matched the location perfectly. Alex wore a dress with puffed sleeves and a blue-and-green floral pattern, while Scott wore an olive green blazer, white shirt, and jeans. They couldn’t have looked more adorable as they strolled along the paths and danced together!
For the second half of the session, we went to Arabia Mountain, where we enjoyed gorgeous views of the surrounding nature preserve and the setting sun. I love this location for an Atlanta engagement session! The top of the mountain is sparse, so it has a desert feel. When we arrived, Alex changed into a long blue dress that beautifully brought out her blue eyes! Meanwhile, Scott complemented her in a navy blue sweater and khaki jeans.
I had a great time photographing this Atlanta engagement session! As a photographer, I love exploring new locations and meeting new people—this time, I got to do both! If you’re newly engaged, I would be honored to capture the love between you and your partner. Get in touch to schedule a discovery call!
