There are some families who start as clients and slowly, without anyone really noticing, become friends who feel like family. Anne Marie and Chris are exactly that for me. I’ve photographed their engagements, wedding, maternity, and newborn season, and being invited back into their home for this at-home session felt less like work and more like spending time with people I genuinely love.
We didn’t walk into this session with a shot list or big ideas. Instead, we did what parents do best — we followed Beau’s lead. We popped into his room, made space for playing on the floor, reading books, and letting the giggles take over.
Those are always my favorite sessions. The ones where nothing is forced. Where the moments happen naturally and the camera simply documents what’s already there.
There was movement, laughter, and the kind of joy that only shows up when kids feel safe and comfortable in their own space.
As mothers and parents, I think we all share this quiet ache — the desire to freeze time. Not just to remember what our kids look like, but to hold onto who they are right now.
The silly words they mispronounce.
The same book they ask us to read over and over.
The way they climb into our laps without thinking twice.
This session felt like a small nod to that feeling. An honor to this exact season of life — not the polished version, but the real one. The everyday moments that don’t feel big while they’re happening, but somehow become the ones we miss the most.
Watching Anne Marie and Chris grow from their wedding day into parenthood has been incredibly special. Their love feels steady and full, and this season — full of toys on the floor and bedtime routines — suits them beautifully.
Being able to document their story over the years is something I never take lightly. These photos aren’t just images for today; they’re reminders for years from now of what life felt like in this moment.
This session took place in their Atlanta, Georgia home, and it’s one I’ll always love for how honest, warm, and joy-filled it was.
