Mitch and Sarah’s Shrimp and Crab Boil Couples Shower was such a fun event! The couple hosted their couples shower at The McGranahan Barn in Edmond, Oklahoma. Romantic lighting lit both the inside and outside of the barn so their guests could enjoy the beautiful spaces the venue offers.

The couple came up with the idea to host a Shrimp and Crab Boil Couples Shower, and I absolutely loved the idea! It was important to the couple to have a very fun, casual, crawfish boil, open bar, live music, hang out and chill kind of night. They wanted something laid back and didn’t want it to be a very formal event. Common in the south, these are a popular way to get everyone together.

This type of event is perfect for allowing guests to mix and mingle and just have fun, which is exactly what happened! The bride, Sarah, mentioned ever since she was a little girl she had dreamed of having a big boil like this. I am so glad she made that dream a reality and that I was able to capture all the special moments for her!

Shrimp and Crab Boil Couples Shower

When it came to food, it was a real crowd pleaser. They had tables filled with crab claws, shrimp, oysters, corn, potatoes, and more! Guests were encouraged to grab a bib and pile their plates high with all the delicious food! The dinner was accompanied by live music from Aaron Newman, who was fabulous. It really was the most incredible evening.

To customize the event, the couple had some fun touches. They had floral coozies, custom cups, and even large signs throughout the venue to tie it all together. I love when couples want to make all their pre-wedding events extra special! My favorite touch were their custom lobster bibs.

During their party, we made sure to sneak away and get some couples portraits. Sarah had the cutest white dress, that featured floral embroidery and lace. The pop of color was such a great addition to her bridal look.

I absolutely love the south (as I get to work often in Savannah and the Carolinas). So it was so fun to have a taste of the south right here in Oklahoma for a fun event! Whenever I am back in the Lowcountry, I make sure to find a Lowcountry boil and enjoy the delicious coastal food.

I loved that Mitch and Sarah decided to do something a bit “out of the box”. They really threw a party that was special to them and fun for their guests as well!
