After photographing Scott and Alex for their Atlanta engagement session, I couldn’t wait for their San Antonio Botanical Garden wedding! When it finally arrived, it was everything they described to me and more. The day was full of joy and beauty from start to finish, with a design bursting with bold colors. The details were impeccable, and the newlyweds glowed with happiness. It was a true honor to be present and capture everything!
I was obsessed with the colorful details at Scott and Alex’s wedding, from the bridesmaids’ bright pink and orange gowns to Alex’s stunning bouquet by Blume Haus. Coral charm peonies, orange ranunculus, and sprays of soft purple larkspur filled the vibrant, organic arrangement. Blume Haus also created the most unique floral centerpieces I’ve ever seen for the couple’s reception! Clusters of flowers still in their soil, as if freshly pulled from a garden, graced the tabletops with whimsy and color.
However, this wedding day didn’t just have a gorgeous design. It also featured several meaningful heirlooms! The backdrop I used for the couple’s flatlay photos was Alex’s parents’ cake tablecloth from their wedding. The white, lacy fabric looked beautiful as a backdrop for the wedding details, and now the photos will always have a special meaning for Alex and her parents. Moreover, the couple’s vintage cake topper was Alex’s grandparents’ from their wedding 60 years ago! Seeing the heirloom in use again over half a century later was so special for the family.
Scott and Alex’s reception at San Antonio Botanical Garden was like something out of a dream! They held the dinner portion of the event outside, where their guests could dine in the open air and enjoy the mild October evening. The massive oak trees made the outdoor space feel sheltered and cozy, while the colorful accents on the tablescapes reflected the joy and beauty of the day. Then, once darkness fell, the event moved indoors, where a checkered dance floor and a stage covered in more brightly colored flowers awaited them.
What a joy it was to capture this stunning wedding day! Scott and Alex are such a sweet couple, and they chose the perfect venue in San Antonio Botanical Garden. While my business is Tulsa-based, I love to travel across the country to photograph beautiful, heartfelt weddings like this one.
