I absolutely loved shooting Annalisa and Jason’s wedding in Maui, Hawaii. The moment Annalisa and I met for a cup of coffee we immediately felt like old friends. We bonded over personality similarities, the fun-loving relationships we both have with our spouses, and our great love for a cup of queso from Cafe Ole (seriously if you’re ever in Tulsa, make it a must).
The original wedding plans were for 2020, but unfortunately, we had to postpone. But this ended up making the celebration even sweeter! It was highly anticipated not only for Jason & Annalisa but for everyone as we were all so thrilled to celebrate them in HAWAII! Who wouldn’t be pumped? This was truly a dream wedding day!
Annalisa told me that all of her grandparents passed away by the time she was 20. While she’s grateful for the short time she had with each of them, it made her sad they couldn’t physically be a part of her wedding day. However, she does believe they were all there in spirit in multiple ways. One was the gold bracelet she wore, her something ‘old.’ It was a gift from her Papa Ed to her Mimi in 1964. He gave it to her on their anniversary on May 5th that year and it says, “I’ll never stop loving you.” What an amazing family heirloom to have and treasure on special moments like this day.
The couple had a beautiful oceanside wedding ceremony followed by an intimate reception. After the ceremony, we had the most magical sunset over the water which made for gorgeous photos. Annalisa was willing to rock climb to get beautiful photos, and I would say it was worth it!
Opportunities to travel to stunning locations and capture these beautiful memories for my couples are just another reminder of why I love my job. I am so grateful to form real connections with my couples and be able to help them create lasting memories that they can share with their families for years to come. If you are planning a wedding and are looking for a photographer, be sure to reach out! I would love to see how we can work together and make your wedding dreams a reality!
