Preston and Kelsey live in California, and they had to reschedule their California wedding multiple times due to COVID. Finally, they decided they wanted to have an intimate ceremony with their close family and friends. Kelsey’s aunt lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and they chose to have a backyard wedding. Her aunts and her momma really put in so much attention to detail because they wanted to ensure that their Tulsa backyard wedding was so special. Family was really the cornerstone of this wedding.

Finding the Right Person

Preston and Kelsey met on Bumble right as they were both starting to give up. They’d both been on some pretty terrible online dates, and they were starting to lose hope of finding each other. However, after their first date, Preston and Kelsey already knew there was something different and special about each other. Between their busy work and travel schedules, they really had to put in some effort to find time to see each other. But they made it work! There weren’t any games, and they both put in equal effort. Kelsey says that everything just clicked.

Tulsa Backyard Wedding

Since the couple had to pivot and do family only, every guest at their wedding was so important to them. Kelsey is very close to her Nana, and her aunts, who helped plan it, are like second mothers to Kelsey. They were so excited to see all these people who are so important to them. Kelsey wanted it to feel like a big family reunion.

When asked what she was most looking forward to, Kelsey said standing in front of their families together and reciting their vows. The most important aspect of their wedding to her was marrying the man of her dreams!

Preston and Kelsey’s Tulsa backyard wedding was truly one of the most joyful weddings I have ever been a part of. The joy came from the couple actually being able to be present with their family since it wasn’t expected or planned. But it was such a perfect day!
