Alexa and Nate’s Spring Island wedding was a magnificent, three-day celebration that brought the sophistication of their home on the Upper East Side to the charm of the Lowcountry. After spending the pandemic with Alexa’s family on Spring Island, they wanted to share its beauty with their friends. So, after Nate’s proposal, they began planning a weekend-long extravaganza!
I first met Alexa and Nate when I shot their engagement session, also at Spring Island. We had so much fun exploring and participating in the fabled Southern tradition of ‘burying the bourbon!’ I knew their impeccable sense of style would translate into an unforgettable wedding weekend, and the result of their planning with Sincerely Yours Events was nothing short of spectacular. From the elegant, ginger jar-inspired design to the picturesque backdrop of the island, prepare to fall in love with this tented Lowcountry wedding.
The festivities began with a memorable rehearsal dinner at Alexa’s family home, which set the tone for a joyful weekend. The tented welcome party, held steps from the island’s beautiful waterfront, brought everyone together for an evening of laughter and delicious Southern cuisine.
One of the most unique aspects of the couple’s wedding weekend was the fun-filled field day, allowing their guests to bond over games and activities. There was even a table of prizes! Afterward, the excitement continued with an elegant all-white party. The attendees donned their most stylish white attire and danced the night away under the stars. Meanwhile, they dined on freshly caught oysters and local favorite Leopold’s ice cream.
Finally, the big day arrived, and it was nothing short of magical. The couple joined in marriage at St. Peter’s Catholic Church before celebrating with a picturesque reception overlooking the serene South Carolina coast. The event seamlessly blended their cosmopolitan tastes with the island’s relaxed charm, creating an unforgettable experience.
The wedding planning team with Sincerely Yours Events outdid themselves with Alexa and Nate’s Spring Island wedding! The tented affair looked right at home on the island with its color scheme of nautical blues and brilliant whites. For the design, the couple took inspiration from classic ‘ginger jar’ pottery, reflecting their choice of linens and the décor on the tablescapes. The finished result seamlessly blended the blue and white patterned details for a high-fashion feel.
Jardinière Events contributed their stylish signature touch to the high and low centerpieces filled with classic white wedding flowers, from garden roses to lisianthus and hydrangeas. To elevate the tented setting, they covered the tentpoles with boughs of lush greenery that trailed to the ground, where rattan lanterns glowed in the twilight. Meanwhile, the simple, gold-framed table numbers and dove gray place cards on the tablescapes exuded modern sophistication.
Alexa and Nate’s Spring Island wedding was the perfect blend of love, luxury, and the natural beauty of the Lowcountry. It was an honor to capture it! While based in Tulsa, I love to capture destination wedding weekends like this one all over the country.
