Alex and Sus’ rehearsal dinner at The Church Studio in Tulsa was so fun! The couple chose a rock-chic theme to match the venue, a historic church-turned-recording studio. The decor was incredible, and their guests dressed to impress in their best rock-chic attire. I’m so glad I was there to capture it all!
I met Sus when she was a bridesmaid for Teddy and Hope’s wedding at Southern Hills. I was thrilled to be able to capture their special dinner! Working with friends and family of past clients is so rewarding. Their rehearsal dinner was at The Church Studio, an iconic Tulsa landmark. The opportunity to photograph an event there was so exciting for me as a local!
The Church Studio has an incredible history dating back to the early twentieth century. It started as a church building before being converted into a recording studio by rock legend Leon Russell in the early ‘70s. Over the years, the likes of Tom Petty, Jimmy Buffett, Stevie Wonder, and Eric Clapton recorded there! In recent years, the building has undergone renovations and now functions as a recording studio, audio engineering school, museum, and event space.
Because of the venue’s history, Alex and Sus wanted their rehearsal dinner to have a rock-chic theme. They selected record-themed decor and designed a guitar logo with their names for their guest favors, cups, and cocktail napkins. Their attire also matched the theme! Sus wore a fringed floor-length dress with intricate floral embroidery that would have looked right at home on stage. She looked so beautiful! Meanwhile, Alex looked cool as could be in a distressed leather jacket.
I loved capturing every moment of Alex and Sus’ rehearsal dinner at The Church Studio! It was an evening to remember, from the unique theme to the heartfelt moments between family and friends. If you need a photographer for your Tulsa event, please reach out.
