Fletcher & Nicole’s Engagement Session at the University of Columbia in South Carolina was just perfect. We had the most beautiful weather and golden-hour lighting. And with so many gorgeous locations around the campus, I know it will be hard for these two to pick their favorite photos. They both met freshmen year at The University of South Carolina so doing an engagement session on a college campus made perfect sense! And I just loved that they brought along their adorable dog, Honey, who loved being in front of the camera. While I am based in Tulsa, I love to travel all over the country, especially the Low Country! So going back to South Carolina to photograph Fletcher and Nicole was so much fun.
Fletcher proposed to Nicole on a Thursday night. They were going for an after-work walk around the neighborhood and they went by this duck pond, which is on their normal walk. When they got there, he had a whole setup with a little picnic and got down on one knee. Nicole had NO idea it was coming! Afterward, Fletcher’s family surprised Nicole and came into town and they went to an amazing steak dinner. They also planned a full surprise engagement party for Friday night and they had 60+ friends come to Atlanta. Such a perfect weekend – great job planning Fletcher!
As a couple, they love to go on nighttime walks with their dog Honey, the love of their lives who made a guest appearance at their engagement session. They both love Peloton rides and get super competitive about it. They also enjoy cooking dinners together, going to South Carolina football games, and BBQ/hanging out with their friends and family.
The two of them have been together since they were 18 (a total of approximately 7 years). They dated all four years of college and were inseparable. After they graduated college, they went their separate ways for about a year and a half. However, it was the best decision they ever made. They laugh about it now, as it allowed them to go do their own thing, get started in their careers, and realize how much they love each other. They got back together in early 2021 and Fletcher moved to Atlanta so they could be in the same city. The rest is history and I know these two are super excited to get married and start this new chapter in their life!
I truly enjoyed getting to know these two during their engagement session. I am looking even more forward to their big day! Micah and I are looking forward to capturing Nicole & Fletcher’s wedding next fall on Amelia Island as their wedding photographers! Stay tuned for more beautiful photos to come! Based on how much fun we had during this engagement session, I know the wedding is going to be an absolute blast!
