The Ballew Family in-home lifestyle session in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was such a fun day! This was my 4th time capturing family, and I have loved watching their family grow. As a photographer, I am always honored when families invite me into their homes to capture beautiful moments and memories. I’ve captured both sweet boys as newborns & it was so much fun to see them again, especially now that they are walking!

Capturing how much they’ve grown is one of the best parts of doing these in-home lifestyle sessions. It is so beautiful to have photos to look back on. You don’t realize how fast time flies when you have kids and how quickly they grow. These seemingly small moments of them as newborns and toddlers become so precious when they are photographed, and families can look back on them for years to come!

As I start to photograph more milestones, I start to form special bonds with the kiddos & parents! I always feel a little personal connection and I am always so excited when I have families invite me back to their homes! Personally, I love how The Ballews are never obsessed over “perfectly posed” family photos. Often times with toddlers, that’s a BIT too much to ask…speaking from the home of a 2-year-old. 😉 We were able to have so much fun letting the kids be kids. When we do that, we often get happy, smiling photos too! When you just relax and allow the kids time to play naturally, that’s when you capture photos that will feel most authentic to you & your kiddos. Thus resulting in photos you love even more!

In-Home Lifestyle Session

For this session, we just hung out around the house. I assume this is probably what a normal day would look like for The Ballews. When it came to clothing, everyone wore a nice neutral palette. This worked perfectly against the nice neutrals they have in their home. Having the kids in cute but comfortable clothes allowed them to just have fun being silly around the house, which resulted in so many great photos. I loved seeing each parent interact with the kids, and the kids interacting with each other. These are the little moments and memories that they will have to look back on when they are older. That is one thing that I love the most about these sessions.
