Harper’s bridal session in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Philbrook Museum was such a stunning shoot. A few months ago, I had the opportunity to capture Harper and Cooper’s engagement session at Oak Tree National Golf Club. It was fun being able to shoot that session and then also have this time to capture these gorgeous photos for Harper before her big day! I love getting to document all of these milestones for my couples. It really is so much more than just a wedding day! It’s all of those events before the big day as well. From the proposal to the engagement, to the bridal session.
For Harper’s session, we had to reschedule due to bad weather. While the weather tried to put a damper on our plans, I have to say, it was worth the wait. These photos turned out to be absolutely stunning. Harper’s strapless classic gown looked just perfect against the stunning backdrop of the Philbrook. Carolyn Gallagher, Harper’s makeup artist, did an amazing job on her hair and makeup. The classic timeless look was just perfect with her satin gown, and I loved the soft pearl touches on her veil.
I also have to point out Harper’s stunning bouquet by XO by Haleigh Kenney. The combination of colors played off each other so well and really complimented the venue also. It was filled with soft blushes and peach tones, with a pop of soft blue. The mix of ranunculus with garden roses added so much texture! A hint of lavender was added with some blossoms and a flowing ribbon, tying it all together.
When it comes to your bridal session bouquet I often get asked if it should be the same as your wedding day, or different. And that is completely up to you! Some of my brides like to try something different and add in color if they are keeping it neutral on the day of. Others prefer to keep it the same as their big day, so they can see what the wedding day will look like. No matter what you decide, it will turn out beautiful.
It was tulip season at the Philbrook and it really is an incredible sight to see. If you can’t have photos done there, it’s worth going just to walk around and enjoy the views. Make a note in your calendar for next spring so you don’t miss out on these stunning blooms!
Considering a bridal session in addition to your wedding photos? I absolutely love these sessions and the time that it gives me to get to know the bride before she walks down the aisle. If you want to learn more about what these bridal sessions entail, get in touch. I would love to hear about your vision and ideas for your bridal sessions in addition to your big day!
