The Shellhamer’s In-Home Newborn Session in Savannah, Georgia was such a pleasure to shoot. I met new mamma, Kayley, through working in the wedding industry. She works with Sincerely Yours Events and I INSTANTLY loved her. She is the sweetest little southern, now Mama, gal and felt like a fast friend! It was an honor to be able to shoot her family session.

I travel frequently through the Lowcountry and on a recent trip, the stars just so happened to align and Kayley and her husband Taylor had the joy of welcoming their sweet baby boy, Knox, into the world! She reached out to see if I would be available to come over and take their photos and I couldn’t say YES fast enough! There was no way I was going to miss this sweet moment!

When I arrived, I was OBSESSED with Knox and his adorable nursery! All the cute details made his room feel so cozy. Not to mention it was the perfect backdrop for their photos! From the white crib filled with pillows and stuffed animals to the closet filled with Knox’s tiny little clothes – everything in the room was photo-worthy! I love getting to document elements of the nursery during these shoots too, so families have these memories to look back on one day when their little ones outgrow their rooms!

Emmy (their golden retriever) was Kayley’s first baby and she was such a sweet big sister (and good model, let’s be real!). She gave lots of kisses and smiles for our photos! It was so wonderful getting to include her so they have photos with the whole family together!

The more I shoot newborn sessions, the more I love them! There is nothing cuter than getting to capture tiny newborn toes or the smiles on the new parents’ faces as they snuggle their little one!
