I met Mackenzie when she was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed a few years back. I had always kept up with her on social media and through mutual friends. So, I was so thrilled when I saw that Garin had proposed! But I was even more excited when she asked me to be her photographer! There’s something so fun about photographing weddings of past bridesmaids. For one, it feels like I already know them a little better since I’ve actually taken their photos before. On the other hand, it means I get to see my past couple at the reception. I love it when it feels like a big reunion! This wedding at Skyline Bricktown was no exception.

Wedding at Skyline Bricktown

This was my first time shooting at Skyline on Bricktown Canal, and I absolutely loved it! This venue is the perfect mix of industrial and modern. It gives you a big city feel with its beautiful rooftop, and there’s a nice amount of variety for portraits. I particularly loved the sunset portraits by the canal! It’s a great location for any wedding that has a lot of out-of-town guests because you’re in the heart of Oklahoma City. There are so many great hotels and restaurants around!

Colorful Wedding Details

Mackenzie and Garin had hot pink and blush details mixed with greenery throughout their reception. I thought this was so fun! Mackenzie had a hot pink and blush bouquet with peonies. There were also peonies and ranunculus on their white wedding cake, and the flowers were the perfect pop of color. Not to mention, the circle arch at the ceremony, which was just gorgeous! Poppy Lane Design just did an incredible job with all of the flowers!
